Well, fall is upon us and this is undoubtedly my favorite time of year to enjoy the great outdoors. Tailgating in Iowa City with family and friends is a long-standing tradition that we look forward to every year with our 1948 Flxible Clipper bus. We plan our Saturday menus well in advance and focus on ways to prepare food in a way that brings people together and takes the game day experience to another level of fun.
We recently enjoyed a pizza party with the Ooni Pro oven (formerly spelled Uuni for those of you who may have missed the recent name change) and it turned a lot of heads in the parking lot. Our guests all contributed ingredients and we had an impressive smorgasbord of toppings to select from (my favorite creation being "The Iowan" pizza with ham, bacon, sweet corn and jalapenos, topped with shredded cheese and a squeeze of BBQ sauce). I am also planning an outdoor pizza party in the field for another long-standing fall tradition: our Father-Son South Dakota pheasant hunt that has now been going for 30 years strong.
If you are really looking to “elevate your outdoor cooking experience,” look no further than the Arteflame. As I've previously highlighted its design alone is impressive, but it is the way that it enables food to be prepared for groups that makes it a serious tailgate party showstopper. It is perfect for direct grilling foods like burgers, chops, steaks, veggies and my personal favorite, bacon!! And also, it's just a damn cool fire pit when you aren't using it for cooking.
I am excited to be able to once again offer special pricing to my BW followers. Get 15% off of all purchases on the Arteflame website by entering my discount code at checkout: BWOUTDOORS.
The Arteflame insert has also been very popular with my customers lately. This insert allows you to convert your Weber or kettle style grill (or a Kamado style grill) into an Arteflame-like grill. The inserts are direct replacements for the grill grate that came with your grill and convert your grill into a grill/griddle combination with a solid carbon steel cooking surface just like that of the Arteflame grills. The flames never touch the food, so everything sizzles to perfection in its own juices. No more flare ups or burnt food either! I love getting pictures from customers of their Arteflame feasts.
Planning a Thanksgiving gathering? Check out these recipes from Arteflame for entrees like Skillet Stuffing, Rotisserie Turkey and Dutch Oven Cranberry Sauce. Take advantage of my special discount code {BWOUTDOORS} at checkout to purchase your own awesome Arteflame products before the holiday hustle starts.
One final note…whether it’s the Ooni Pro, the Arteflame or a Weber grill, we use FOGO lump charcoal as fuel to cook our food. Contact me to find out how you can get access to FOGO or become a retailer!
